Walker's Pace: Elite 1,500 Field Added to Friday Night

An elite women's 1,500 meter race has been added to Friday night's schedule during the Nike Track Nationals at Hayward Field.

The race will start at approximately 8:30 p.m. and will feature Oregon's Jordan Hasay, Zoe Buckman, Nicole Blood and Alexandra Kosinski, as well as Malindi Elmore and Sara Hall of Asics, Julia Howard of Nike and Lauren Hagans (unattached).

Buckman will be trying to hit the 4:10 automatic standard for the Commonwealth Games, where she hopes to represent her native Australia this October in India.

Admission is free for Friday's race and Nike Track Nationals.

And during Saturday's Prefontaine Classic, be sure to watch for Oregon's Andrew Wheating in the Bowerman Mile, as well as A.J. Acosta in the International Mile.
